Experian FAQs
The Experian Affordability Passport is a secure Open Banking service that allows you to share your bank transaction data directly with us during your loan application. Instead of providing paper or PDF bank statements, you can securely connect your bank accounts and share recent transaction information in minutes. The Affordability Passport provides a read-only view of:
• Income and salary payments
• Household and everyday spending
• Credit and loan repayments
• Regular financial commitments
• Account balances and transaction history
This information helps us assess affordability quickly, accurately and responsibly. As part of your application, we'll ask you to share data from all eligible active current accounts. Using Open Banking gives us a clear picture of your financial circumstances, helping us determine whether a loan is affordable and suitable for you. Your information is shared securely and only with your consent. We receive read-only access and cannot make payments, move money or make changes to your accounts.
How does the Affordability Passport work?
- After you have submitted your application, you will be automatically taken across to Experian’s Affordability Passport. If you run into any issues, you can contact us to get a new link.
- When prompted, connect all current accounts held in your name, including any joint accounts.
- Your Digital Bank Statements are securely sent to Norwich Trust, and one of our team will then review the data before contacting you to finalise your application.
